Ho'okena, Big Island Hawaii
Hookena is located in South Kona of the Big Island. This unusually shaped blowhole caught my attention while scouting the coastline. The ocean recedes and then comes back in, traveling under the rocks and shooting water high into the air. The vog (emissions from the Kilauea volcano) in Kona creates a hazy atmosphere resulting in some interesting sunsets. Photo © copyright by Wade Morales.
