Moonbow’s & Volcanoes

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

I stood at the edge of Halema’uma’u Caldera as gusts of cold wind and mist blew in. The bright moon setting behind me revealed itself periodically, lighting up the landscape and revealing a magnificent moonbow arching off of the cliffside, down to the caldera floor. Halemau’uma’u is located in Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is the main vent for Kilauea Volcano. To learn more about how I shot this image, click here.
